AI Search Results

AI Citations tells you whether you’re cited; AI Search Results shows you the pages doing the citing. For each keyword you track, it pulls a per-engine citation summary — how many sources the AI answer cited, whether your domain was among them, and your domain’s position in the cited list. Expand any row and you see the actual source URLs the answer drew from, in order. This is the source-level view of AI visibility: the exact pages ChatGPT and Gemini reach for when they answer your topics, so when a competitor’s page is cited and yours isn’t, you know precisely which page to study and outdo.

  • A project with tracked keywords. The citation summary is built per keyword, so your keyword set defines what’s scanned.
  • Available data budget. Source data comes from VisibilityIQ’s AI visibility monitoring; scanning is an on-demand pull that consumes a little of your project’s monthly data budget. Recurring sync is opt-in per project.
  • Your own domain set on the project, so the summary can flag whether — and where — you appear among the cited sources.

Open your project and go to AI Visibility → AI Search Results. You’ll see your tracked keywords, each with a per-engine citation summary across the configured engines (ChatGPT and Gemini).

To inspect the sources behind a keyword, choose View sources to expand the row. VisibilityIQ shows the full list of source URLs that engine cited, with each source’s position. To bring in fresh results, choose Scan AI search — it triggers a new fetch per configured engine and updates the summaries and source lists.

The collapsed summary for each keyword carries three measures per engine:

FieldWhat it tells you
Total sources citedHow many pages the AI answer pulled from for this keyword — the size of the citation pool you’re competing in.
Your domain citedWhether your domain appears anywhere in that pool of sources.
Your positionWhere your domain sits among the cited sources, so you can tell a top citation from a buried one.

Expand a row with View sources to read the ranked list of source URLs. This is the heart of the feature: it names the specific competitor pages the engine trusts for the topic. If your domain is absent, study the pages that are cited — their structure, claims, supporting data, and freshness — and outdo them. If you’re cited but low in the order, the same study tells you what the higher-ranked pages do that yours doesn’t.

AI Search Results tracks where you stand among cited sources; it doesn’t guarantee a citation or promise a rank. Use the source list as a study map, not a scoreboard.

Use Scan AI search whenever you want current source data — after reworking a page to match the cited competition, after a content push, or before reporting. Each scan is an on-demand pull per engine against your monthly data budget. To keep AI Search Results current automatically, enable recurring sync for the project; it stays off until you opt in, so your budget is never spent without your say-so.
