Prompt Visibility
When someone asks ChatGPT or another AI engine a question in your space, does the answer mention your brand — and does it cite your domain? Prompt Visibility tracks exactly that. It runs a set of real prompts derived from your keywords against AI engines and records, for each answer, which brands the engine surfaced, which sources it cited, and whether you were among them. This is your share-of-voice inside AI answers: the AI-era equivalent of asking “when people research this, who gets named?”
What you’ll need
Section titled “What you’ll need”- A project with tracked keywords. Prompt Visibility builds its prompt set from your real search demand, so a project with keywords already produces a meaningful set. If a project has very few keywords, VisibilityIQ falls back to brand prompts so you still get coverage.
- Available data budget. Each AI answer is fetched on demand from VisibilityIQ’s AI visibility monitoring and consumes a little of your project’s monthly data budget. Recurring sync is opt-in per project; out of the box, you pull fresh answers when you choose to.
- A clear sense of which brand and domain are “yours” — the page flags your domain in every result so you can read at a glance whether the answer included you.
How to use
Section titled “How to use”Open your project and go to AI Visibility → Prompt Visibility. You’ll see the prompt set VisibilityIQ derived from your keywords, each one a question a real person might put to an AI engine.
To pull a fresh answer for any prompt, choose Run a sample now. VisibilityIQ fetches a current AI answer for that prompt, then records the brands the engine mentioned, the sources it cited, and whether your domain appeared. Coverage includes ChatGPT and other engines. Because each sample spends a small amount of your data budget, run samples on the prompts that matter most rather than the entire set at once.
How to read the results
Section titled “How to read the results”Each sampled prompt resolves into a single answer snapshot you can read top to bottom:
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Brands mentioned | The brands the AI engine named in its answer — your competitive set, as the AI sees it. |
| Sources cited | The pages the answer drew from and linked to. These are the sources the engine trusted for this prompt. |
| Your domain appeared | Whether your domain was among the cited sources for this prompt. |
Read the brands column as share-of-voice: if the same three competitors appear across most of your prompts and you don’t, that’s the gap to close. Read the sources column to learn which pages the engine considers citation-worthy for your topics. A prompt where you’re mentioned but not cited, or cited low among many sources, is a content-structure signal — the engine knows you exist but reached for someone else’s page to back the claim.
Prompt Visibility tracks whether you’re surfaced and cited; it does not guarantee you will be. AI answers shift, so treat a single absent result as a signal to watch rather than a verdict, and look for patterns across repeated samples.
Refreshing the data
Section titled “Refreshing the data”Use Run a sample now whenever you want a current read — after publishing new content, after a competitor moves, or before a reporting cycle. Each run is an on-demand pull that consumes a little of your monthly data budget. If you want Prompt Visibility to refresh on its own cadence, enable recurring sync for the project; it stays off until you opt in so your budget is never spent without your say-so.
